چکیده

In this paper, we focus on subjective and objective Point Cloud Quality Assessment (PCQA) in an immersive environment study the effect of geometry texture attributes compression distortion. Using a Head-Mounted Display (HMD) with six degrees freedom, establish PCQA database, named SIAT Database (SIAT-PCQD). Our database consists 340 distorted point clouds compressed by MPEG cloud encoder combination 20 sequences 17 pairs quantization parameters. The impact is further discussed paper. Then, propose two projection-based quality evaluation methods, i.e., weighted view projection based model patch model. findings can be used processing, transmission, coding, especially for virtual reality applications. dataset https://dx.doi.org/10.21227/ad8d-7r28 xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">http://codec.siat.ac.cn/video_download_siat-pcqd.htmlhas been released public repository.

Head-Mounted Display Systems

Real-time three-dimensional (3D) interactive displays refer to display devices servo to the line of sight of a user, allowing not only free head motion, but also potentially and importantly full body mobility. Ideally, one could wish for such capability to exist without the need to wear any view-aided device. However, unless a display system could be created in space, anywhere and anytime, a si...

Noisy images-JPEG compressed: subjective and objective image quality evaluation

The aim of this work is to study image quality of both single and multiply distorted images. We address the case of images corrupted by Gaussian noise or JPEG compressed as single distortion cases and images corrupted by Gaussian noise and then JPEG compressed, as multiply distortion case. Subjective studies were conducted in two parts to obtain human judgments on the single and multiply distor...

Multisensory integration with a head-mounted display and auditory display

Human operators who use head-mounted displays (HMDs) in their work may benefit from auditory support. It is unclear whether auditory support is better delivered in free-field or via earpiece, and what the effect of walking is. To examine this problem, a novel multisensory integration task was created in which participants identified mismatches between sounds and visual information on an HMD. Pa...

Head-Mounted Display Image Configurations

A scheme for organizing head-mounted displays based primarily on image configuration and secondarily on the display/optics and head-mounted sensor(s) is offered as a way to clarify design and human interface issues. These attributes are linked to field-of-view, image content and device applications. An argument is made for discarding confusing and outdated concepts. This organization of a diver...

Subjective Image Quality Assessment of a Wide-view Head Mounted Projective Display with a Semi-transparent Retro-reflective Screen

This paper reports on a wearable Hyperboloidal Head Mounted Projective Display (HHMPD) and two user studies on the evaluation of visual quality of a wearable HHMPD. Using a hyperboloidal mirror, an HHMPD can provide a wide field-ofview (FOV), a large observational pupil, and optical see-through capability. We propose a simple head attached screen that is both retro-reflective and semi transpare...
